AI-assisted development and inspectable control software play different roles in keeping quantum equipment reliable.

Development and operation are distinct
QuEra describes Claude working through the Model Hardware Standard to develop and test laser-control software inside human-defined safety boundaries. The automatic relocking controller now runs as a standalone conventional program without AI in the runtime loop. A separate tuning workflow still involves AI.
Read the test conditions with the result
QuEra reports 695 successful recoveries in 700 trials across seven disturbance classes, about 99.3%. This measures a particular laser-control test, not the uptime of an entire quantum computer. Failure detection, stopping conditions, and escalation to a human remain important questions.
