Duality and Context: How People, Events, and Things Reveal Different Qualities
From moral judgment and competing accounts of events to wave–particle duality, context changes what can appear—but not every description is equally valid.
Duality is not arbitrariness
The same object can reveal different aspects under different conditions, but that does not make every description equally correct. Context changes what can be observed and requires us to state the conditions under which a judgment holds.
The boundary of quantum concepts
Wave–particle duality belongs to specific physical theories and experimental settings. Applied to personal or social questions, it can prompt inquiry, but it cannot replace ethical or institutional reasoning.
Cross-disciplinary resonance
Science offers testable knowledge, while philosophy examines concepts and reasons. Interdisciplinary work does not collapse them into one method; it lets distinct approaches illuminate one another while keeping their boundaries clear.
